Jake Engle
Fuel in his veins. Fire in his heart.

Racing is in Jake Engle’s DNA. He’s been competing since he was old enough to reach a clutch, and has already racked up enough awards and accolades to fill a trophy room. At age 12, the San Diego native won the World Karting Association (WKA) West National Championship in the Junior 2 HPV and Junior Super Sportsman classes, competing against more experienced drivers. He also took first in the WKA’s Grand National Championship for Junior-ICA (JICA), an international class for junior karters. A year later, he went on to win his inaugural U.S. Karting Championship in the men’s TAG class.
Today, this talented, 17-year-old driver continues to captivate audiences with his fast-evolving skills, uncanny understanding of stock car dynamics, and unparalleled desire to succeed. He finished 8th in his first NASCAR Whelen Super Late Model race. And after starting in the 42nd position in his first Late Model Stock Car at Myrtle Beach Speedway, he finished 15th.
Ironically, it was Engle’s early bout with Dyslexia that makes him such a threat on the track. As a result of the disorder, Engle is able to make decisions exponentially faster than an average person, with an uncanny hand-eye coordination to match. Something most drivers can only dream about.
If history is any indication, the Jake Racing team is bound for even more success in the near future. Under the guidance of Engle – he was named team manager in 2010 and handles all executive decisions, including budgeting, sponsorships, scheduling, and driving – they’re currently preparing to compete in the top three series of NASCAR, including the Camping World West Series and the Whelen Super Late Model.
Despite it all, Engle remains as humble and friendly as he is determined – a rare mix of qualities that attracts attention from fellow drivers, fans, and media alike. He even finds the time to attend school at The Landmark School in Boston, MA, where he maintains a 3.89 GPA while playing varsity lacrosse and soccer.
“Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal – a commitment to excellence – that will enable you to attain the success you seek.” – Mario Andretti
